MOOSE LEGION NEWS - Chuck Meginnis - Moose Legion Activity Committee Chairman

Those of us that participated in the Gold Coast 68 Moose Legion Celebration at Aransas Pass had a wonderful time. If you didn’t attend, you missed a good one !
Welcome our Newest Moose Legionnaire “Marty” Martin.
We also elected and installed our Board of Directors for 2010 - 2011. The next Moose Legion Celebration is going to be right here in Corpus Christi on July 17th and 18th, so you will be able to attend this one without having to travel or stay overnight out of town ! All Moose Legionnaires should attend the Celebrations along with your spouse or your qualified guest. Let’s make this one even better than our last one which was a huge success.
If you are not already a Moose Legionnaire, and you have been a member for at least one year, then all you have to do is sign-up and enroll one of you friends, relatives or associates as a member of the lodge and you are then eligible to join the Moose Legion. This is a good time for you to join the Moose Legion while it right here at home !
Our Lodge Board of Officers are trying hard to plan many activities for everyone to enjoy while at the same time we are doing some good for others. We have our Moose Legion Activity Committee Meeting every month on the first Sunday at 12:00 noon. You may attend this meeting even if you have not yet joined the Moose Legion. It’s at these meetings where our Lodge activities begin.
Please come out and have fun with us and while you are here, bring your ideas and suggestions to us.
Moose International/Moose Legion Convention is in Nashville, Tennessee during July 1st through the 7th. Several of our members will be attending this convention and learning what is new and what we can do to further ensure the continuation of Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Remember, that is what all of us pledged to do when we signed up as members of the Moose Fraternity.
Summer Time is a slow time for the lodge, so it is now time to get back into the groove, check the calendar and come join us in the fun and invite your friends and neighbors into our Fraternity so we can continue to grow and prosper.

bring one (1) new member to a Lodge Orientation or reenroll
one (1) former member and as soon as they become
a member, you become a “Preferred Member”… Its that
simple and as easy at that!
For our May – June Lodge Membership Incentive
Program we will continue offering the following: For the
months of May and June, for each new member enrolled,
with you being present at the Orientation, we will reward
you, the "Preferred Member”, with the following: (2)
FREE Grilled Pork loin Dinners at the regularly
scheduled “end of the month” Grilled dinner. Remember,
your new member must be Orientated and Enrolled during
May and/or June, with you present, for you to qualify.

FROM THE LODGE GOVERNOR — Ray Netti
For my first report as Governor, I would like to thank Chuck McGinnis, Junior Governor; Steve George, Junior Past Governor; Dan Sharp, Prelate; Martin Hills, Treasurer; Tom Bowman and Steve Harrell, Trustees. for their support. I would also like to thank David Lipscomb, Inner Guard; Tony Perry, Outer Guard; Freddie, III, Sargeant at Arms, and all of our Committee Chairmen.
We could not do this without Chapter 1376 Senior Regent, Theresa Harrell; Junior Regent, Tammy Placker; Junior Graduate Regent, Deanna Kassler; Chaplain, Doris Dorsey; Secretary-Treasurer, Karen Kerpit; and all of the WOTM chairpersons. Thank you all, for the wonderful job you do supporting our Lodge, Mooseheart and Moosehaven!
Also, I wish to thank all those who participate and help in all of our efforts to forward our mission for Mooseheart and Moosehaven, and our local community service efforts.
Lodge 734 has signed at least 3 more new members than last year. Our community service has been superior, as it has for a number of years. Our Lodge has maintained a 25% Moose Legionnaire membership for this year. We have signed 7 new members in this new Moose Fiscal Year, and we have great hopes of growing our Lodge stronger throughout the rest of the year, with the help of each and every member.
Be sure to check the upcoming events at our lodge which is shown on the calendars in this issue of the Newsletter.
Attending our International Convention is really exciting! Maddy and I went to International Convention in 2008 at Las Vegas and totally enjoyed the experience, including the conference meetings, as well as the speakers and learning how much the Moose Lodge makes a difference in the lives of others.
Moose Legionnaires, if you want a real Legionnaire experience, come to the Corpus Christi Moose Legion Celebration July 17-18th. Two years ago, I became a Moose Legionnaire at Lodge 734, and we set some records that have never been seen before! So, please come join us in what will be an amazing celebration!
We will have a wonderful year because of all of you, and thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you all at the Lodge!

FROM THE SENIOR REGENT —– Terresa Harrell

I hope all of you had a “Happy Mother’s Day”.
Ladies, I would like to thank you for all the “Goodies” you brought for the “WOTM Bake Sale” on May 15th, it was a great turn out. Also, the “Rib Cook Off” was a big success and we all had a lot of fun. The “First Place Ribs” was won by one of our own, Sandy Bitting !
The Spaghetti Luncheon furnished by the “Star Recorder” Committee on June 5th for the TMA District 7 Meeting was delicious and also was a great success. Thank you Ladies, you did good!
For a “Fathers Day” project, the WOTM Co-Workers made “Little Paper Shirts” and sold them for $1.00 each so you could write a message to Father and then they were hung up in the Social Quarters for all to see. We had a lot of fun with them and made a little money for the WOTM as well. It all turned out great !
Ladies, please check the expiration date on your Membership Cards to be sure yours’ has not expired and needs to be paid. We really need to be sure that we keep our membership up.
Thank you to those that furnished Side Dishes on June 12th for Brother Chucks’ “Pot Roast Dinner”. It was really great !
Our WOTM “Hat Raffle” will end and a winner will be drawn on July 30th. Be sure to get your tickets before that date. You can get your tickets at the lodge or ask one of our WOTM officers for tickets.
I would like to continue to encourage each and every WOTM member to do your best to attend our Activity Committee Meetings on the first Tuesday of each month to meet our newest members and have fun with all the other Coworkers as well. Then on the Third Tuesday of each month, be sure to attend the Business Meetings and stay current with all the new and great things that are going on with the WOTM locally and Internationally.
